witches and fairies!

I started this tradition last year of taking my girls pictures on Halloween. I had a lot of fun last year with my old little point and shoot camera, so I was way excited to have my big SLR to take their pictures this year. My sister in law gave me the idea to use each year's pictures as next year's decorations. I love that idea cuz I just love these Halloween pics but I really don't know what to do with them. Anyway, there is just something about this holiday that is so magical to me. Maybe it is because my mom always made it so magical for me. Not too sure how magical I'm making it for my girls considering I made them sit through a quick little photo shoot to have my fun before they got to have their fun.

Marah was extremely uncooperative and loves to literally run from the camera, but with an extra fast camera and the help of Sam I was still able to get some fun witch shots.

I really don't know what Sam does behind me but he always can get her laughing.

My sis was a pretty awesome vampire and was a lot of fun to take pictures of. It was nice to not have to chase her around like my girls. We were attempting a mid air vampire shot here.

Maybe she should be the next Twilight star.

I loved this shot of my Uncle and just had to put it in with the rest of these halloweeny shots.
Marah couldn't get enough of Uncle Bob's crazy eyes. This picture just says it all.
I hope my neighbor doesn't mind me posting this picture. It was just another one of my favorite halloween shots.
I love this picture of the girls by our halloween tree.
This is the exact reaction we got when we announced it was time to go trick or treating. Absolutely priceless!
The next two shots are just a couple I took of the spooky tree I had Sam plant in our yard and then covered in dollar store goodies.

Nothing wrong with wishing everyone happy Halloween in January is there?

Belly Pics!

I got to do belly pics for the first time just before Thanksgiving. It was such a blast! Not to sure Clay would agree considering that I dragged them out at 7: freezing 30 in the morning to attempt sunrise pictures at this half built abandoned cabin. I had the idea in my head but had no clue if any of it would even work, so I was really nervous making them go out in the early cold for what might have been a complete waste of time. Heather was awesome about it. She is into photography and appreciates what it means to sacrifice for a unique shot. She was all for it and she made it all so easy. I didn't have to pose her at all. She knew what she wanted and how to be natural. She made my job so dang easy. Thank you so much Heather for asking me and letting me try out new things. I'm so excited for you big day. You are going to be an awesome mom!
